This weekend we were lucky enough to be invited to attend the prestigious Kryolan Masterclass in London which is a two day creative indulgence of all things make up, sfx and bodyart hosted by the fabulous Kryolan UK team and held in the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
The event is invitation only and across the two days we were treated to a diverse range of guest artists demonstrating various looks recreated from their career highlights or up and coming projects they are working on.
All finished make up’s were unveiled to reveal fabulous complimenting fashion looks styled by well known stylist and fashion designer Joey Bevan and then photographed by Simon Ackerman who provided the photography for the Paintopia Pre-launch party which Kryolan UK kindly hosted for us back in April.
Guest Artists for this year included:
whose stunning make up demonstrations were live streamed on YouTube.
Face Off overall winner Darla Edin‘s clever prosthetic make up demonstration was also live streamed on YouTube
Nicola’s demonstration at the Masterclass was a recreation of some of the make up she had created on Russell Brand and others for the film Get Him to the Greek and also an insight into the fake tattoos created for one of his television presenting roles.
International make up artist Emilie Guillerman showcased the brand new airbrush system from Kryolan, Nebula and created a bridal and a prom look.
Created two stunning demonstrations during the weekend featuring Arabian beauty make up and Arabian fashion make up.
Tara Moghaddam from the Kryolan London Pro Team demonstrated a gorgeous Asian bridal look following her recent educational tour of India.
Created a fantastic and colourful 80’s inspired Pirate drag look with quite possibly the most amount of false eyelashes ever used to complete a make up. Especially loved the moustachelash!
created three gorgeous fashion editorial looks photographed below with stylist Joey Bevan
The Kryolan Pro Team demonstrated six looks alongside one another on stage. Three looks were recreated from the famous Kryolan 2015 calendar tour by Paul Merchant, Victoria Lee and Samantha Ellis. Tara Moghaddam created a red carpet inspired look, Leanne Simmons created a SFX meets Fashion look and Gemma Horner and Craig Chapman created a Swan Lake inspired bodypaint piece.
This was the third time we have attended the Masterclass and Cat, Helen and myself once again had a wonderful time catching up with friends and collegues as well as coming home hugely inspired by all that we had seen. Of course there was “essential” shopping that needed to be done in both the Kryolan store and nearby Screenface too (haul photos below)
Huge thanks to all of the fabulous Kryolan UK team for inviting us and for all the work that goes into putting this incredible creative feast together for us. Also thanks to all the guest artists who share so much of their work with us across the weekend. Hope you enjoy this little recap of the Masterclass, if you do feel free to leave a comment below, thanks for reading :0)
