In January 2016 Cat and myself were kindly invited to be a part of the very first Professional Makeup Academy open day down in Surrey.
Martina Parmar-Bellieni is the founder of PMA and has been a well reputed makeup artist for many years. She works hard to promote professionalism in the industry and is part of the events team for both IMATS and also The Prosthetics Event. She has recently set up her own event, The Media Makeup & Theatre Event which will make its debut in Birmingham in March 2016.
Beside ourselves, the other exhibitors & demonstraters included I Paint Faces which is run by Angela Youngs, Imagine Face & Body Art with owner Elissa Barrett and creator of amazingly realistic blood and prosthetics master Robert Smith
Models were: Daniel Kerry, Kerry Clayton, Mia Cousins and Fanny Adams
Tickets to the open day were free and the turnout for the day was bigger than anticipated, the atmosphere was absolutely lovely and most public that attended stayed for the whole day. It was such a success that Martina has already set a date for the next open day which will be on April 16th. Full information is available on the Facebook event page.
